The necessary changes having been made, a telescope is brought to the eyes the wrong way round so the immediate surroundings appear far away as though one has suddenly been elevated-except for the feet that are still firm on the ground, immensely heavy yet moved by a gentle breeze the body maneuvers slowly but surely like a razor blade through cookie batter

copper wire/building/video
A copper wire was fixed to the ground and extended in a straight line from the exact centre of a heavy symmetrical museum building. It continued into a vast garden surrounding the establishment. Although approximately one hundred meters long, the wire is barely visible from the exhibition space, and only under the right circumstances. The copper wire was then filmed – close up, tracing its journey through the environment outside. The video was exhibited inside on a small monitor. This repeated shift in scale between the work and its environment is an attempt to convey an experience that is described in the long title. However, on both accounts; with the environmental work outside and the video, one is presented with an image that can only be completed in the mind.
You have patiently explained to me the nature of the celestial bodies, their weight and scale, the distances and the speed that govern their existence. Furthermore, you have told me that electrons hover around protons in our own bodies in much the same way. I still fail to comprehend it. But I can, occasionally and with the necessary changes having been made, feel every single atom buzzing in my limbs and once I attempt to describe it – the feeling is lost to me.
